Morgan Lake offers great access to shore fishing and pier fishing. The Ken and Cheryl Rose Fishing Pier, located on the lake's south shore, was restored in 2010 by Mid-Hudson Trout Unlimited and The City of Poughkeepsie.
Morgan Lake is the ideal spot to take children, as well as others who are new to fishing.
Bait can be purchased from nearby Stewart's Shops (85 Creek Rd, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601; 845-471-9014).
Night crawlers or phoebe lures are recommended.
Ice fishing is very popular at Morgan Lake. Before you go out on the ice, view the Morgan Lake Contour Map and be sure to know the ice fishing basics. Visit the DEC website for more information about ice fishing: http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/7733.html
